The Wizard Comics Magazine stopped publication in January of 2011, after sales had been down for a long period of time. The main problem was that the news that they brought was already known through the internet. Most staff members had been laid off, but it was also revealed that Wizard would be relaunched in February 2011 as an online magazine called Wizard World. The first issue of “Wizard World” would be made available online and at all major digital distribution channels. The magazine in paper form lasted for 235 issues and from 1991 till 2011, making it one of the longer magazine runs in America.

MAD MAGAZINE # 1 - 550 (1952 - 1982)

MAD Magazine has been a staple of American pop culture since the first issue in 1952. MAD was initially published by EC Comics (now published by DC Comics) and started out as a comic satirizing other comics but became a magazine when the comics code was created because the limits were looser. MAD Magazine has been seen in movies like the 1966 film Fahrenheit 451 and TV Shows like The Simpsons and even spawned its own programming, such as the live action MAD TV on FOX and the animated MAD! on Cartoon Network. MAD continues to satirize comics, but has branched out into making fun of pretty much everything, from television to books to film to advertising on tv and Spy vs Spy in Mountain Dew Ads.
